Collagen is a naturally occurring protein found in skin, muscle, tissue, and bone. Cosmetic surgeons can use collagen to inject into areas in which patients have lost elasticity or fullness under the skin.
Common uses include filling in lines and wrinkles, plumping out the lips, and filling in pitting beneath the skin, such as acne scarring.
