Facial Implants
The Center for Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery
Facial implants are an effective solution to resolve problems with the underlying structure of the face, either due to weak or undesirable features, or to reverse the 'gravity' effect of aging.
Done alone or in conjunction with other procedures such as a facelift, facial implants can bring out weak or less prominent features, bringing the face into better proportion; or they can 'lift' the facial features, reversing the signs of aging and restoring the youthful proportions of the face.
Most facial implants are made of a solid silicone material, which allows the implant to maintain its shape while still appearing natural and lifelike under the skin.
Facial implants are available in a variety of types, shapes, and sizes, and can be used to bring out weak or disproportional features such as the chin, cheek, or lower jaw area.
Chin implants
Chin implants are used to strengthen and enhance the profile of a weak chin. Chin implant surgery is usually performed using a small incision either on the inside of the mouth or directly below the jawline.
Chin implant surgery usually takes somewhere between a half an hour to an hour, and pain and swelling should subside within a few days after the procedure.
Cheek implants
Cheek implants can create higher, more prominent cheekbones, either to enhance your natural looks or to recreate more youthful proportions when the natural aging process has caused the face to lose fullness.
Lower jaw implants
Jaw implants are generally inserted along the side of the jaw, to better define the jawline, creating a stronger profile.
