The surgical procedure can improve the appearance of the outer and inner lips (labia majora and labia minora), as well as the clitoris. Many women feel uncomfortable when the clitoris or inner lips are larger or more protruding than the outer lips of the genitalia. What is the Labiaplasty Procedure?

The procedure will begin with appropriate sedation, which can include general and local anesthesia. Once properly sedated and numbed, Dr. Kotis will carefully remove small sections of skin on the area selected as problematic. More than one area of the genitalia can be surgically performed on at once. Dr. Kotis may also recommend liposuction as part of your procedure, but this will be established prior to the appointment. Once the skin and fat are removed, Dr. Kotis carefully closes any incisions with fine sutures. Healing begins immediately, and Dr. Kotis may recommend ointment and bandages to promote comfort and health.
