Dr. Kotis performs vaginal rejuvenation procedures for his patients with labiaplasty in Chicago. Depending on your needs, you may require just one surgery or a combination of the three approaches.
Labiaplasty is a reconstructive procedure that is designed to improve the appearance of labial tissue. It is ideal for women who suffer from:
Elongated or enlarged labial tissue
Excess tissue surrounding the clitoris
Discomfort during intercourse
Decreased sexual stimulation
Asymmetrical labia minora
Labiaplasty can be done under general or local anesthesia. To reduce the labia minora, Dr. Kotis will take one of two approaches: the wedge or the trim. With the wedge technique, he will remove a small portion of tissue and close the incision to create a smaller labia minora. With the trim method, he will cut away excess tissue along the entire length of the enlarged labia.
To improve the appearance of the labia majora, Dr. Kotis typically tightens the area non-surgically using a laser or focused radiofrequency treatments. Alternatively, he can also reduce the area by removing excess skin via small incisions.
You can expect mild discomfort after a labiaplasty procedure. We recommend taking about one week off from work to optimize the healing process, and waiting six full weeks before resuming sexual intercourse and tampon use.
Talking about being unhappy with your genitalia isn’t something that is a comfortable topic to discuss, despite the fact that many of us are self-conscious about our genitalia for various reasons. Whether unhappy about the form, function or both, there are cosmetic surgery options to help remedy the problem. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. John A. Kotis offers labiaplasty as a cosmetic surgery at his office.
Labiaplasty is a cosmetic surgery that can change the appearance of a woman’s genitalia. The surgical procedure can improve the appearance of the outer and inner lips (labia majora and labia minora), as well as the clitoris. Many women feel uncomfortable when the clitoris or inner lips are larger or more protruding than the outer lips of the genitalia. Other women consider this procedure for other reasons, including painful intercourse, recurring yeast infections and overall discomfort.
Dr. Kotis prides himself in providing some of the best labiaplasty procedures and promises you his best possible care and attention.
The procedure will begin with appropriate sedation, which can include general and local anesthesia. Once properly sedated and numbed, Dr. Kotis will carefully remove small sections of skin on the area selected as problematic. More than one area of the genitalia can be surgically performed on at once. Dr. Kotis may also recommend liposuction as part of your procedure, but this will be established prior to the appointment. Once the skin and fat are removed, Dr. Kotis carefully closes any incisions with fine sutures. Healing begins immediately, and Dr. Kotis may recommend ointment and bandages to promote comfort and health.
Labiaplasty is designed to correct issues associated with the visible portion of the genitalia. The benefits of the procedure can include:
These benefits of the labiaplasty can change, depending on the purpose of the procedure. Most labiaplasty procedures reduce the size of the labia minora, but additional benefits may be observed following improvements to the labia majora and clitoris, as well.
Irregular or uncomfortable genitalia can happen to anyone throughout adulthood. Sometimes it’s genetic, but other times, genitalia abnormalities can happen as a result of childbirth, weight change or aging. Whatever the cause may be, women suffering from pain, elongated or asymmetrical genitalia can benefit from this procedure. This procedure is best suited for adults who are not considering having a child in the near future, as it may change the look of the genitalia once again. Following childbirth, if a woman is feeling insecure about her genitalia, in addition to other parts of the body, Dr. Kotis may recommend this procedure as part of a full mommy makeover.
The cost of labiaplasty can vary among patients, depending on the procedure itself. In an initial consultation, Dr. Kotis will discuss his recommendation for the procedure, as well as the cost of the procedure itself. In terms of payment options, we offer financing and accept cash, credit card, and check. Visit our financing page for more information regarding insurance policies and cosmetic surgery costs.
We honor written quote for procedures from any board certified plastic surgeon. Listed pricing is all inclusive – no hidden fees (includes pre-op, post-op visits and fees for the surgeons, facility, and anesthesia).
Your vaginal rejuvenation may be best utilized if packaged with other procedures:
It may be the best utilization for you, both financially and for an overall look, to package your vaginal rejuvenation within a full mommy makeover procedure which Dr. Kotis specializes in delivering.
