Your Injections: What to Expect
When you arrive at our Chicago office, you will be seated in a comfortable reclining chair. Dr. Kotis will ask you to make a series of facial expressions so that he can mark the treatment areas.
No anesthesia is required for the injections, though we may administer a numbing cream to ensure your comfort. From there, Dr. Kotis will place the BOTOX at varying depths and locations to ensure a natural outcome. The entire process will take about ten minutes and you will be free to resume your normal daily routine right away.
Your Results
You should notice an improvement in the treated lines and wrinkles a few days after your injections, and these results will continue to improve for about one month.
BOTOX results typically last up to four months, at which point you will require an additional appointment to maintain your results.

What are the side effects?
BOTOX is an extremely safe treatment with very few risks. Any side effects that do develop are mild and temporary. The most common ones include:
Bruising. BOTOX-related bruising is typically mild, will fade in a few days, and can be easily concealed with makeup.
Drooping. If the BOTOX spreads to a nearby location, it can cause temporary muscle drooping. This should clear up in about one week and can be avoided entirely by not rubbing your face after receiving your injections.
Flu-like symptoms. Some patients experience flu-like symptoms, headaches, and nausea after BOTOX. However, these effects are typically mild and should resolve very quickly.
